small VICTORIES, BIG impact

Happy New Year and welcome to 2023! As we ring in the new year, many of us reflect on the past year and think about what we want to accomplish in the year ahead. But it can be easy to get caught up in the negative aspects of the past year, such as the challenges or hardships we faced. Gurl, you already know 2022 was a year of challenges. However, what if we chose to view the year through a different lens - that of Jesus?

I recently had an experience that reminded me of the importance of this perspective. I was driving to my sister's house and a song came on my Spotify that I had never heard before. It was called "Victory" by Fred Jerkins and it powerfully spoke to me. The Lord told me that "victory" would be my word for 2023. At first, I was hesitant because I have been in a difficult season for a couple of years and the idea of "victory" seemed foreign to me. It might feel foreign to you too. But then He gently reminded me that it's not what I think - the small victories can have a big impact.

This message resonated with me because it reminded me that even in the midst o difficult times, we can choose to walk in victory. We can choose to focus on the small victories that come our way, whether it's overcoming a personal obstacle or simply finding joy in the present moment. And as we stand firm in our faith and give ourselves fully to the work of the Lord, we can find victory in all that we do. I know, what you are thinking, easier said than done. I know, you're right but we must fight the urge to have this perspective and start to see things through the lens of Jesus.

In 1 Corinthians 15:57, it says, "But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

As we embark on this new year, let's choose to walk in victory and celebrate all that God has in store for us. You never know, God, just might surprise you with your wildest dreams. Be blessed and Happy New Year!
