New Season, New Strength

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” —Matthew 6:21

Entering a new season often feels like stepping into uncharted territory. I’ve journeyed through moments like this before—times when everything felt just a bit larger, heavier, maybe even beyond me. But this season? It’s different. It’s not just about becoming older or wiser; it’s about entering a space of new authority, where God has positioned me in new levels of leadership.

Embracing New Responsibility

As I look back, I see how God has been preparing me for this. Each challenge, each triumph, each whispered prayer has shaped me. Today, I find myself carrying a weight of responsibility I could never have imagined as a younger woman. I’m a wife, a mother, a leader, and a mentor to others. But with this new season, I’ve learned that carrying authority isn’t just about saying “yes” to God’s call. It’s about having the discipline to steward this position well.

New territory means new levels of discipline. I’m learning that in order to stand firm and lead others well, I have to prioritize my heart, my habits, and my relationship with God more than ever. It’s easy to think discipline means restriction, but in God’s kingdom, discipline is a gateway to freedom. It’s about living in step with the Holy Spirit, making choices that reflect my values, and ensuring my life speaks of His goodness.

The Gift of Discipline in New Territory

This journey reminds me of a Bible verse, but now it holds fresh meaning: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21). My treasure isn’t in earthly accolades or accomplishments; it’s in Jesus and in the kingdom work He’s called me to do. Discipline, then, isn’t about crossing off a to-do list (although, that’s an incredible feeling); it’s about protecting what matters most.

Whether it’s guarding my time, setting boundaries in my relationships, or staying rooted in the Word, every choice reflects my priorities. And just like the Israelites, when God led them to the Promised Land, I know that taking hold of this new territory requires more than just entering in—it requires being faithful and obedient daily.

My Challenge to You

If you’re feeling a pull into a new season, perhaps God is calling you to a new level of discipline, too. Maybe He’s asking you to trust Him in ways you never have before or to guard the new territory He’s given you with steadfastness. Remember, the journey with God is always one of deepening our walk, refining our hearts, and becoming more like Jesus.

Are you willing to say “yes” to the discipline required for where He’s leading you? Let this be your reminder that you’re not alone in this journey. You’re stepping into the next chapter of God’s great story, where He has intentional plans for you. Embrace the new territory, trust in His provision, and let your faithfulness be your offering.

Take a Step

This week, I encourage you to sit in proximity with Him. Open your Bible, find a quiet moment, and ask, “Lord, what discipline do I need in this season?” As you listen, write down what He speaks to your heart, and commit to taking one small step toward that call. New territory is sacred. Let’s enter it together, equipped, intentional, and anchored in His love.
