From Wallflower to Warrior: My Journey

I want to share a very personal story with you today. It’s about my transformation from a shy little girl, who would often hide behind her mom, to a confident senior leader at work and in my church community. This story isn’t just about me; it’s a beacon of hope for anyone who feels overlooked or too small to make a difference.

Hiding Behind a Trusted Shield

Imagine a little girl, barely visible behind her mother's skirts, peering out with wide, cautious eyes. That was me. Back then, if you had told me that I'd be leading teams and initiatives, I would have laughed nervously and shrunk back even further.

But God had other plans. Just like many unlikely heroes used in the Bible, God saw something in me that I hadn’t yet seen in myself. He knew me fully, as He tells us in Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart."

Standing Tall at 5'1"

Though I stand just 5'1", inside, I’ve always felt like I’m 6 feet tall. This internal giant was awakened through overcoming personal traumas and healing—a journey I’m still on. Each step forward has been a testament to God’s grace and the power of resilience.

I often think about how Moses felt small and inadequate, yet God used him in mighty ways. Like Moses, I've learned to step into roles that seemed much bigger than me, clinging to the truth that “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

A Heart Positioned for Leadership

My heart’s posture has been key. It's not about achieving perfection but about striving each day to be a healthy leader, wife, and parent. God saw my heart, knew its capacity for growth and healing, and placed me where I could lead others by example.

Every day, I pray for the strength to represent Him well, to lead with love and courage, and to extend the grace that I’ve been so freely given.

Join the Movement: Lead, Mentor, Disciple

Now, I ask you—what's your story? Do you feel too small to make a difference? Remember, God uses the willing, not just the capable. I encourage you to step up in your community. Serve in the church, mentor young women, and disciple others. We need leaders, mentors, and disciples who reflect God’s love and grace.

Let’s rise together, supporting each other, and make a real impact. Share your thoughts, join a ministry, and take that first step towards your calling. We are all giants in His eyes.
